成績等級ガイド
Grade A
Although not native speaker level, is able
to function competently, and capable of taking part,
in a conversation in English without difficulty.
Able to understand clearly what is said and to respond
with ease and clarity. May only need linguistic
assistance in detailed or complicated negotiations.
Grade B
Showing a good command of English with little or
no difficulty in taking part in a conversation in
English. Including a few areas where speech retains
non-native speaker features but without hindering
communication. Able to handle spoken communication
but will probably need a certain amount of linguistic
assistance in special circumstances.
Grade C
Able to carry on a reasonable conversation in English
but on occasions misunderstands what is said. Probably
able to handle uncomplicated conversation but will
require linguistic supervision and correction to
function effectively. Sometimes difficult to understand
clearly.ハ
Grade D
Often difficult to understand and often misunderstands
what is said. A lot of work to improve accuracy
is necessary. In an English-speaking environment,
candidates with this grade are likely to find their
ability somewhat inadequate for most occasions.
Able to comprehend simple and terse instructions,
comments, and fragments of conversations (these
may be misinterpreted). Able to carry on a restricted
conversation but this will be highly coloured by
situational and personality restraints.
Grade E
Appearing to have great difficulty in understanding
the interviewer and responding in any way. A great
deal of basic practice is necessary before candidates
with this grade will be able to hold a reasonable
conversation in English. They can hardly be said
to have functional English. Their performance is
likely to be erratic and almost certainly limited
to passive, receptive skills. Much of their communicative
skill will be accomplished on the basis of hunch
or guesswork, some of which might be accurate, depending
on situation and personality factors.
